American Express (Amex) is inviting applications for the role of Data Science Analyst in the GSG Advanced Analytics team as part of the GSG MIS COE. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of Data Science and Machine Learning projects across the GSG organization in multiple areas of servicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Understanding: Understand the overall business perspective and help conceptualize the business problem into a Data Science/ML roadmap.
- Research-Oriented Approach: Stay updated with new techniques and algorithms to drive efficiencies and process improvements.
- Algorithm Testing: Rigorously test algorithms as per business norms to enhance the status quo and generate value.
- Technical Expertise: Write, debug, and compile codes in Machine Learning environments with a strong command of Python stack.
- NLP Applications: Focus on solving problems through Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Model Validation: Apply performance testing and validation frameworks to machine learning models.
- Mathematical Foundations: Deploy cutting-edge NLP techniques on varied data sources using advanced mathematical concepts.
- Data Insights: Derive insights from terabyte-sized data and design scalable solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- 0-3 years of experience.
- Proficiency in Python and libraries like pandas, numpy, nltk, statsmodels, genism, pyspark, spacy, transformers.
- Proven experience in Machine Learning techniques, such as Regression, Classification, Supervised/Unsupervised Recommenders, Deep Learning, etc.
- Strong data wrangling and visualization skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of SQL.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Transformers, LSTMs, CNNs.
- Working knowledge of fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Deep knowledge of Statistics and Mathematics, including fields like Linear Algebra, Bayesian Statistics, and Group Theory.
- Expertise in Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
