Position Overview
As an Associate Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the development of Anthology's Learning Management System (LMS), Blackboard. This platform provides well-designed web and mobile solutions to support learners, instructors, and administrators, facilitating access to online educational experiences anytime, anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate expertise with Java and REST APIs.
- Participate actively in agile team activities, including daily stand-ups, design sessions, code reviews, and sprint demos.
- Embrace test-driven development as a core aspect of software delivery.
- Address challenges associated with delivering and maintaining cloud-based software, such as troubleshooting live production environments and responding to customer-reported issues.
- Develop capabilities across the complete stack of technology layers to provide fixes and develop features.
- Collaborate with AI technology to enhance development efficiency and create new features for customers.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in designing, writing, and deploying scalable software.
- Experience with the Java stack, SQL databases, and web application development.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented design and coding principles.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Quick learner with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience in writing unit and integration tests.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers on cross-functional agile projects.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithm analysis, and design skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based hosting solutions, particularly AWS.
